Terms & Conditions
The rules for using Kontimo: your free account, the community, our paid services and this website.
Scope
These Terms govern your use of Kontimo: the websites kontimo.com and thegrabmethod.com (the "Site"), the client account you open on it (your "account"), the community inside it, the paid services we provide and the digital books we sell. Kontimo is operated by OYA Studio LLC, a Wyoming, USA limited liability company ("we", "us"). By opening an account, buying a product or a service, or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site or our products.
What Kontimo is
Kontimo helps restaurants perform on Grab, in every country where Grab runs. It reads the figures of your restaurant's own Grab account and shows them to you with what they mean, gives you a community of restaurant owners, and offers paid services in which our team reads your Grab account, sets it up or renovates it. Kontimo is independent and is not affiliated with Grab Holdings Inc.
Your account
- Free, for restaurant businesses. Opening an account costs nothing, has no time limit and asks for no card. It asks for three things: your email address, your restaurant's name, and whether your restaurant is on Grab yet. Kontimo is meant for restaurant businesses and the people who work for them.
- No password. You sign in with a link or a six-digit code that we email to you. Each works once and expires after a short time. Keep access to your email address to yourself: whoever can read it can sign in to your account.
- The people you invite. You can invite other people to your account as a manager or an employee. The owner decides who has access, and you are responsible for what the people you invite do in your account.
- Fair use. To protect the service, we limit how many sign-in emails one address can receive and how many accounts one connection can open in an hour. A person never reaches these limits; a machine does.
- Closing it. The owner can close the account from its Settings: an email asks you to confirm, and says that closing cannot be undone. While an order is still in progress, write to us and we close it with you. What is deleted and what is kept is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Your Grab figures
Connecting your Grab account is optional on the free account. The Account Check-Up, the Account Setup and the Account Renovation need it. You connect it by adding an address we give you, one for your restaurant alone, as an employee with the Manager role in GrabMerchant. You never give us your Grab password, and you can remove that employee at any time. Before you give us this access, you accept the Account Access Agreement, which says what we may and may not do with it.
We collect your figures only when you ask for it. Each collection is checked by a person on our team before its figures appear in your account, so they can take some time to arrive. The figures are the ones Grab's own screens and files give for your restaurant; when Grab changes them or its screens, what we can show changes too. The readings and recommendations in your account are advice: the decisions about your restaurant stay yours.
Kontimo Pro
Kontimo Pro is the subscription that opens the advanced figures in your account. It is free on your first collection. No payment for Pro is taken today. If that changes, the price and how to stop the subscription will be shown to you before you subscribe, and nothing will be charged unless you subscribe.
The community
- How you appear. You post under the nickname you choose, or anonymously. Your restaurant's name is never shown. An anonymous post shows where you are and what you sell, never your name or your photo.
- Who can read it. A post is read by the other members. When you make a post public, anyone can read it, without an account and through search engines, and the replies to it are public too. You choose this on each post.
- The house rules. They sit under the box you write in: no selling, no naming a rider, a customer, an employee or another restaurant, and disagree with the idea, not the person. Any member can flag a post. We may take down a post or a reply that breaks the rules; you can take down your own at any time. A post taken down leaves the feed, and we keep a copy.
- What you write is yours. You keep the rights to it, and you allow us to show it in Kontimo to the people it is meant for. What members write is their own opinion, not advice from Kontimo. If you close your account, what you posted stays, signed as a former member, with nothing that ties it to you.
Emails and LINE
We email you what your account needs: your sign-in link and code, letters about your orders and your figures, and a few letters about your next step. The community's weekly letter and the Monday email with your figures each carry a way to stop them, and the Monday email is sent only if you ask for it. LINE messages are sent only if you link your LINE, about the moments you choose. Our Privacy Policy gives the details.
License to use the books
When you buy a digital book (The Method or Method + Toolbox), we grant you a single-user, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to access and use the files for your own restaurant business. You may print one (1) copy for your own internal use. You may not resell, sublicense, redistribute, share the files with other operators, post them on a shared drive, include them as part of a course or paid program, or use the content to train an AI model. The license is yours; the work stays ours.
Services: what each side provides
The Account Check-Up, the Account Setup, the Account Renovation and the other services offered in your account or on the Site are services, not licensed files, and the book license above does not apply to them.
What you provide. For the reads, the Setup and the Renovation, access to your Grab Merchant account; what we may and may not do with that access is set out in the Account Access Agreement, which you accept before giving it. For the Setup, the Grab Merchant account itself: Grab requires your own identity, bank and business documents, so you create it and we build inside it. On every service that involves photographs, you supply them; we specify, prioritise and place them. Where a service ends in a decision list, the work that follows waits on your decisions.
What we provide. The scope of the service as it is written where you buy it, on its page or its card in your account. Delivery times run from the moment you have provided what the service needs, not from the moment you paid, and any approval that belongs to a delivery platform runs on that platform's own timetable.
Confidentiality, and what we keep. What we learn about your restaurant while delivering a service (your figures, your margins, your choices) is confidential: never shared outside the people and software that run your service, never sold, never published in a form that identifies you or your restaurant. The reports, plans and other deliverables we give you are kept for seven years after the end of our relationship, as proof of the work done and for our accounting and legal obligations; the Account Access Agreement says the rest.
What nobody provides. A result. As stated below, we do not guarantee any ranking, order volume or revenue outcome.
Purchases & refunds
Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are listed in USD unless stated otherwise and exclude any local taxes that may apply on your side. Digital books come with a 30-day money-back guarantee, full terms are on the Refund Policy page. Services follow the separate refund rules described there. Buying a book gives you the current version plus any minor updates released during the next 12 months; major new editions may be sold separately.
Prohibited uses
When using the Site, your account or any product, you agree not to:
